When referring to a telephone call, indeterminate means the source may be a toll-free number, which is non-geographic in the NANPA, or some other number for which the geography cannot be determined. When referring to telephone call costs, the Indeterminate Rate is generally more expensive to cover a cost for the call which is originating (or possibly terminating) to an unknown location.
